      Edwin L. Shannon was born 21 January 1927 in Cherry V alley, Arkansas, the son of  Robert Lee and Mary Stark Shannon.   He had one brother, Ralph, and two sisters, Jewel and Essie Mae.
    Edwin served in the Navy during World War II.   He married Mary Ella Durham and they had one daughter, Lillian Diane.   He worked for the Memphis Light, Gas and Water Company for 28 years and retired as a supervisor.
    Edwin 1. Shannon died 25 December 2000 and was buried in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne, Arkansas.
